3 Ways to Build Your Business on a Budget

Growing a business with limited resources is a challenge for new businesses and business that have been around for many years. These three ideas have been effective for many business owners:

  • Get testimonials – Every time you make a sale, ask your customer to provide a testimonial. Post these referrals on Yelp, Angie’s List, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and even on your website.
  • Lunch and Learns – Depending on your product or service, if you can get into businesses and do a presentation to their staff and bring them pizza as an incentive, it can be a great way to get in front of several people at one time to share your expertise and find a few new prospects along the way.
  • Social Media – Making posts on your social media sites and others. Share your blog everywhere and get your close friends and clients to share your blog on their sites as well.

Networking is another great way to meet people who can potentially become customers. In most areas, there are many free events to attend where you can meet quality people. The key to making your networking successful is to have a goal when you attend and a follow up plan afterwards.
